Luiz Felipe Scolari won his first game since he became the Brazilian national team manager last year as the Seleção beat Bolivia 4-0 in a friendly game in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
A percentage of the game’s revenues will be given to the family of Kevin Beltrán, who was killed by a Corinthians fan in a Libertadores game.
Brazil fielded a strong full home-based team, featuring Dedé, André Santos, Paulinho, Jadson, Ronaldinho, Neymar and Leandro Damião, while Alexandre Pato was on the bench.
Ronaldinho was chosen as Brazil’s captain.
The first goal took little to happen as Leandro Damião opened the scoring on the third minute after receiving a good cross from Fluminense’s Jean.
Neymar scored a brace to extend Brazil’s lead to 4-0 before half-time, the assists were made by Ronaldinho and Jádson.
Pato and Osvaldo replaced Leandro Damião and Neymar in the second half but Brazil had a slow start, as Bolivia dominated possession without being able to create much.
The Bolivian best chance was wasted by their captain, Grêmio’s striker Marcelo Moreno. Promising The Strongest player Chumacero played the second half without having much impact.
Palmeiras’ forward Leandro got his first Brazil cap as he replaced Ronaldinho. the Atlético Mineiro star left the pitch to loud applause from both Brazilian and Bolivian fans.
Leandro did not disappoint as he scored Brazil’s fourth goal just before the final whistle, assist from São Paulo’s Osvaldo.
Botafogo’s defender Dória also made his Brazil debut as he replaced Dedé four minutes before the final whistle.
